Freaky Carrots United

As most of you know I went to Austria a few weeks ago for our travel weekend. On the way there we traveled in groups of five because that way we could get cheaper train and bus tickets. Before we took off my team (which included: my roommate Kelsey, Stefanie (my German hostess for Christmas), Beccy and Rachel Hill of San Diego, CA, and myself) decided to come up with a team name so that if we ever got separated we could just call out the name and everyone would know to get on or off the train. We settled on the name Freaky Carrots. Primarily inspired by Stefie, who has orange hair and was wearing a green jacket. So, we went on our journey and the five of us hung out and bonded quite a bit with hanging out in the Austrian Alps.

On the way home, traveling in the same group, we started to come up with this silly song\rap which talked about our time and activities in Austria. The trip back was really fun too and although it was a lot of time on trains, it went by quickly.

So...we got back to school and we knew that the week after travel weekend we had an event called The 6th Hour, which is kind of an open mic night. Music is a big deal here and it allows all of those who are musically inclined to show off their talents. Well, the Freaky Carrots decided to get involved too. We added a few verses to our song, choreographed a little dance, and made some t-shirts. I am not usually one for performing, especially silly things, but I was inspired.

The 6th Hour was a great combination of silly and serious acts, it ranged from serious songs written by individuals to a rendition of Baby got Back called Baby got Book, which talked about girls with big Bibles. Our act was funny and fit in perfectly. It was well recieved and we are planning a part two for the 6th Hour that will be held next semester.

Our song went something like this:

First collapse the Choco Happs
Then we eat the Sweet Wheat
Then we dry the dishes and
we THROW down a sweet beat

What what what what

Cookies, bread, Nutella too
Eating junk is what we do
White and brown bread, golly gee
Gluten free's the way to be

OH....

All of us ride the bus
Freaky Carrots on the train
To get back to the Bode
We all do the same thang

What what what what

Three short days
At the hut
Hiking, eating, sleeping.
What? WORD.

Some explainations: Kelsey is allergic to gluten. Choco Happps and Sweet Wheat are weirdo cereal names from Germany. And, while at the hut, we ate a ton of Nutella...it has become a staple in our diets.

OMG. You look just like Sarah in pic #3- the b&w one. You must be related.

P.S. Another weird thing: the Word Verification for this entry is "kating". Wow. Now you are a verb.
